Terms of Service

Last updated: 4 July 2026

These terms govern your use of Kaha Tahi Accounts (the "Service"), a cloud accounting service provided by Kaha Tahi Ltd ("we", "us"). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these terms.

1. The Service

Kaha Tahi Accounts provides bookkeeping, invoicing, bill management, payroll, and reporting tools for small businesses. We may connect to third-party services on your behalf, including Google (for sign-in) and Akahu (for bank transaction data, where enabled).

2. Your Account

You sign in using Google. You're responsible for keeping your Google account secure and for all activity under your organisation's account. If you invite a colleague, you're responsible for their access until it's removed.

3. Your Data

You own the financial and business data you enter or connect through the Service. We do not sell your data. We use it only to provide and improve the Service, as described in our Privacy Policy.

4. Acceptable Use

You agree not to use the Service to store or process data you don't have the right to, to attempt to access another organisation's data, or to interfere with the operation of the Service.

5. No Professional Advice

The Service is a tool to help you manage your books — it does not constitute financial, tax, accounting, or legal advice. Reports, calculations (including payroll and GST figures), and suggestions are provided for convenience and must be independently verified. You remain responsible for the accuracy of your financial records and for meeting your own tax and regulatory obligations (including filings with Inland Revenue).

6. Fees

Kaha Tahi Accounts is currently provided free of charge during its early access period. If we introduce paid plans in future, we will give you reasonable notice before any charge applies to your account.

7. Availability

We aim to keep the Service available and your data backed up, but we don't guarantee uninterrupted access. We recommend keeping your own copies of important documents (invoices, reports) generated by the Service.

8. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Kaha Tahi Ltd is not liable for indirect or consequential losses arising from your use of the Service, including losses relating to incorrect tax filings, missed payments, or business decisions made using data from the Service.

9. Termination

You may stop using the Service and request deletion of your data at any time. We may suspend or terminate accounts that breach these terms.

10. Changes

We may update these terms from time to time. We'll let you know of significant changes.

11. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of New Zealand.
